Why Gujarat Employers Need to Pay Attention to SHe-Box Registration in 2026?

Why Gujarat Employers Need to Pay Attention to SHe-Box Registration in 2026?

Organizations in Gujarat have received notices/letters over the past few months from the Department of Labor & Compliance Authorities on the registration of their organization on the SHe-Box Portal

As an HR manager, PoSH IC member, Compliance officer, or business owner, this cannot be ignored. The Ministry of Women & Child Development has been focusing on enhancing the role of the SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box) platform to speed up the workplace safety measures and implementation of the PoSH Act 2013 in the country.

Many employers have still not realized the important element as us:

Should your organization not register details of its Internal Committee(IC) on the She-Box portal, it is possible that its employees will not be able to direct complaints on the portal to your organization’s IC.

Hence, it is an imperative PoSH compliance activity for the state of Gujarat in 2026.

We will guide you through the step-by-step process of the registration procedure in simple terms.

What is the SHe-Box Portal?

The SHe-Box is an online complaint-handling mechanism developed by the government of India. A female employee in the government or private sector can file her complaint on this portal about any sexual harassment at workplace. Through this, the authorities can keep track of the complaint’s files, their resolution status, & check whether the organizations are adhering to the PoSH act.

Who Needs to Register on SHe-Box?

Any organization that employs 10 or more employees is required to constitute an Internal Committee under the POSH Act & should complete registration on SHe-Box Portal

This generally includes

  • Private companies
  • Manufacturing companies
  • IT Companies

Who can be a Nodal officer?

It is not mandatory for an IC member to be the Nodal Officer. You may appoint someone outside the IC if that is more practical. We also recommend using a common email ID for the Nodal Officer, such as a compliance or legal ID, or creating a new ID specifically for this purpose.

A presiding officer cannot be a nodal officer.

Mistakes that an Employer should avoid

1. Not updating the IC information

 – If your presiding officer or a member changes, update the portal immediately.

2. Using Personal information

– Always use official company email addresses.

3. Details of the external member are missing

– An external member in the IC committee is a compulsory requirement as per the POSH Act.

Absence of external member details will affect the compliance.

4. Waiting for a complaint before registering

 – Registration should be completed proactively, not after an issue arises.

5. Treating Registration as a Complete Compliance

– She – Box registration is only one part of POSH compliance.

Organization must also:

  • Conduct annual POSH awareness Training
  • Internal Committee member to be trained
  • Maintain complaint Records
  • Annually reports submission
  • Review & update POSH policies

Why She-Box Registration Matter for Organizations?

To keep the workplace safe more regulations are been advised every year.

By registering proactively on SHe- box organizations demonstrate:

  • Dedication to employee safety
